Slovenia’s best mountain runner has set himself a very special challenge – running from Prešeren Square in the center of Ljubljana along the shortest route to the top of Šmarna gora. The mentioned distance, which was supposed to be 11km, was covered in 42 minutes and 11 seconds, which is a top result!
Timotej Bečan has been the best mountain runner in Slovenia for many years, and he is also successfully competing with the best mountain runners in the world in the World Cup for mountain running. FOUR DECADES OF ŠMARNOGORA RUNS

ON SUNDAY, Oct. 4 at 3 pm, the opening of the photo exhibition “Four decades of Šmarnogora runs” will take place on Šmarna gora.
The exhibition is an introduction to the running weekend, when the 25th Šmarna gora record will be held on Šmarna gora on Friday and Saturday, and the 41st Šmarna gora run on Saturday.
You are invited to the opening or later to visit.
